What areas do you cover as a local locksmith?
KLS Locks are able to attend emergency call outs in Orpington, St Mary Cray, St Paul’s Cray, Petts Wood, Chislehurst, Swanley and Sidcup. We are normally able to attend within fifteen minutes of your call.
Will I speak directly to you or a call centre if I call?
When you call you will speak directly to the locksmith we are local, Orpington based and not a call centre.
Are you available at the weekend and evenings?
KLS Locks are available 24 hours a day seven days a week for all emergency lock issues, of course you can also book an appointment with us for non emergency work too.
If I’m locked out, will my door be damaged trying to get back in?
We are expert locksmiths and will always try many options before we would even consider damaging your lock. Very occasionally it is not possible to open a lock without damaging the lock such as in the case of a lock that has broken inside but once we have finished the door and lock will look and work as good as new.
How long does it usually take for you to arrive here?
Depending on the time of day we can arrive with you within ten to twenty minutes of your call.
Do you cut keys?
We cut keys for many locks and offer this service to all of our customers as a non emergency service.
How much will you charge for a call out?
We don’t charge a call out fee, when you call we can in most cases give you an accurate price to complete the work over the phone, if your issue is more complicated we can attend to give you a free quote to complete the work however with our extensive experience it’s unlikely we won’t be able to give you a price over the phone.
Why do UPVC doors get jammed?
Almost every uPVC or composite door problem is caused by the door not being aligned or fitted correctly. In most cases we can correct the alignment to prevent further problems but if it’s already jammed or difficult to lock then we may need to replace the part that has gone wrong.
Do you always have locks in your van?
We carry a wide range of locks to suit different types of doors and windows, offices shops and garages.
What types of locks will you fit?
We supply and fit locks which are certified to BS3621:2007 for wood doors and a very wide range of locks for UPVC and composite doors from standard locks to anti-snap cylinders and a range of one star and three star high security cylinders. We are happy to provide advice on what locks are suitable for your needs.
If you can’t fix my problem in one visit, when will you return?
On the very rare occasions we are unable to resolve an issue on the first visit we will always make sure you are secure and in most cases return later in the day to fix the problem.
Do you have any guarantees?
All of our parts and labour are guaranteed for one year unless we specify otherwise, in some cases with very old or obsolete locks we may be able to repair the lock but will tell you at the time if the repair is guaranteed for one year or less.
